REMOTE SENSING OF THE EARTH AND PLANETS

AEROSPACE INFORMATION

The "Aerospace Information" department and the "Aerospace Information Systems" laboratory, which is an unit to its structure, were established at the end of 2006.

The main activity of the department is related to the processing and interpretation of aerospace data, creating spatial data for the purposes of ecological monitoring, the protection of the natural environment and biodiversity, the management of natural resources, the building of digital twins, etc. The research activity of the team is related to the application of aerospace information, remote sensing methods, geographic information systems (GIS) and computer modeling to study the impacts of climate change and anthropogenic activity on various components of the natural environment and ecosystems as a whole.
